Helvetica

I saw a guy wearing a Helvetica T-shirt on Friday night.

Ok, unknown to some, Helvetica as a font is one of the most widely used in the business world.

Helvetica is a very utilitarian, sans serif typeface and can be found almost in all the known industries.

Born in 1957, Helvetica is now used by companies like Panasonic, Toyota, Microsoft, 3M, Muji, American Airlines, American Apparel, Comme des Garçons, Jeep, Lufthansa, Nestle, Fendi and many more.

Celebrating it's 50th year, you should be seeing more of the Helvetica t-shirts and caps. But now you can go ahead and amaze your friends with this new found trivia as to why it's so hot (or maybe not) to be seen with this font right now.

There is a "death to helvetica" t-shirt as well.
