mARBLECAKE ALSO THE GAME

I lost The Game!

What is The Game?

Rule 1: Everybody is playing The Game. (You included)
Rule 2: Whenever you think of The Game, you lose.
Rule 3: When you lose, you must announce your loss.

Read the first letters of the top 21 most influential people on Time's list. As voted by internet users.

They spell "mARBLECAKE ALSO THE GAME".
It is not a coincidence.

Ha!

I like the idea used in the recent Basic Instructions about movies you should love is really funny. It associated how Belle in Beauty & The Beast fell in love with the beast after being trapped with him for a while with Stockholm Syndrome.

Well, I suppose the step-mothers of Cinderella and Snow White were preventing Electra Complex then.

Google Chrome

I so saw this coming.....

The Googlelisation of the web.

After buying youtube and who knows what else, they now have a web browser of their own.

Introducing the Google Chrome...
Like the slow release of Google Earth for mac previously, the mac version is not out as yet.

Some of the features include incognito mode which allows the user to surf porn site without being found out. But they tout it as a feature to prevent accidental revealing of passwords and sensitive private information. Like the fact that you actually like midget porn.

There is also a safe mode to alert users to a possible unsafe website.

But really, it is not that fantastic from what I see on youtube.

But I could be wrong.

Randy Pausch

I decided to go onto youtube and watch him.

I have not finished.....about a third through.

But this bit made so much sense:

..........when you’re screwing up and nobody’s saying anything to you anymore, that means they gave up. And that’s a lesson that stuck with me my whole life. Is that when you see yourself doing something badly and nobody’s bothering to tell you anymore, that’s a very bad place to be. Your critics are your ones telling you they still love you and care.

I no longer care.

Our conclusion

While at Timbre the other evening, Poof told Serene that I maintain a blog. I said in return that Poof keeps one too. Hers is now "privatised".

Poof quickly jumped to the conclusion that people who blog are secretly exhibitionists. I qualify that statement by saying that people who put sitemeters (or any of the like) are exhibitionists. And went on to add that people who follow blogs of people they don't know are voyeurs.

I think that's not very far from the truth.

But then again, if I am an exhibitionist, why do I prefer to take the lift alone and when I get in a lift, I'll press the "DOOR CLOSE" buttonly quickly just to make sure I get the lift to myself. Does that mean I am like exhibiting privately? Is that an oxymoron?

1001

From Independent Sources comes a list of the top ten unintentionally worst company URLs. I wonder how they managed to, umm, source for all these URLs. Independently? Not funny. But the list is very funny. It's like the Oral Me toothpaste mentioned by kenny sia.

By the way, people like Xiaxue, Kenny Sia and Mr Brown.....are they celebrity bloggers or blogging celebrities?

1. A site called ‘Who Represents‘ where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name… wait for it… is
www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at
www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at
www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at
www.therapistfinder.com

5. Then of course, there’s the Italian Power Generator company…
www.powergenitalia.com

6. And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales:
www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you’re looking for computer software, there’s always
www.ipanywhere.com

8. Welcome to the First Cumming Methodist Church. Their website is
www.cummingfirst.com

9. Then, of course, there’s these brainless art designers, and their whacky website:
www.speedofart.com

10. Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe? Try their brochure website at
www.gotahoe.com

My Lyrics

I removed all the individual posts with lyrics and have labeled them all under lyrics *surprise surprise*

I'm gonna remove all the here fishy fishie fishii and just label them somehow. I gotta look for my funnies and file them properly. I think it'll take months.

I think putting up advertising html on my blog really slows down the loading of my blog.

Halcyon Realms and GSE

There are times when I am super proud of being a Victorian (the school idiota! not the era). And this is one of those times.

I am not sure but I think The Great Spy Experiment comprises at least two Victorians. Saiful and Effandy are definitely Victorians. I'd be shocked to be informed otherwise.

And Mr Vong!!!!! Man, if my dream of having a FAM, will you endorse my store? Check out the newspaper article in Straits Times. Ian Pang is with LucasArts Singapore.....

Miss Koong who sings Happy Hours on Fridays at Balaclava with her friends, she's JC but Victorian nonetheless.

I don't know all of them well but I'm glad there are people keeping her flag unfurled.

My college mate is amazing. Besides traveling the world over for his Bachelors, Masters and soon, his Ph.D, he has the most amazing mind. Got through some tough statistics problem because of him.....

Here we find him thinking about meteors and super-earth.

Do you remember the days?

There was a time when Singaporean bloggers were cordial, non-judgemental and, dare I say it - liberal.

Was.

The comments left on metablogs, blogs and other websites that celebrate the idea behind web 2.0 resemble those on forums. Self-centred and self-congratulatory.

People used to be brown-ed. Now anything gets tomorrow-ed. I used to get excited, now I shudder to read.

It is interesting to qualify a comment like "I can crack racist jokes" with "because I am not racist and I read Uncle Tom's Cabin and To Kill A Mocking Bird.". "Gays should not be disturbed by my sharing of gay jokes with my heterosexual friends" with "because I am not a homophobe and I watch Queer Eye For A Straight Guy", "I think women are shallow" with "but I am not a misogynist and I love my mum!" The liberal use of slurs, making fun at the expense of others and general social mischief is so prevalent now. The line that separates humour and plain ole rudeness is constantly disappearing and re-appearing, shifting and changing, becoming increasingly wavy and at times, dotted.

Is the future self-assured and driven by a single need to satisfy self-interests? That spells hubris.

New website plug!

Jados forwarded me a new website!

And I think it's totally cool idea.

I'm one who don't keep track of the various promotions which restaurants tie up with credit cards. Too lazy for that.

But not anymore!

Introducing........ HungryGoWhere.com!!!!

Extracted from the website:

Our Mission Statement

“You full-y satisfied…We happy!”

Our Story...

HungryGoWhere.com was started by three Hungry Men – say Yeah! – who were crazy enough to leave their jobs to help Singapore eat better! After many bus rides, abuse from rude waiters and days of eating loti only, we finally managed to bring you:

  • A fun and comprehensive database of restaurants and other F&B places in Singapore
  • All credit card promotions in one place (We update these promotions immediately once the banks publicise them)
  • Real experiences from hungry people who have already visited the places you want to go to (Join them by writing your reviews here!)

Like all dot coms (except YouTube, Google, Amazon, EBay and other non-Singaporean dot coms), we have NO revenue model (Surprise, Surprise!) and are providing this service to you absolutely FREE! Hence, feed us please! We can’t be eating loti forever! To our charitable friends out there, we accept all spare change (we mean money and not used underwear).

You can make your cheques out to: GTW Holdings Pte Ltd
and mail them to: 51 Thomson Road
Unit 177A, Goldhill Centre
Singapore 307586

We also accept chicken, fish, tofu……

Nice!

New Look!!!

Since I have beta-rised my blog, I decided that a cleaner look should be adopted.
Less colour perhaps, so that if there should be any pictures they will stand out better.

Hopefully better organised.

Neat freak.

*if anyone is interested in the sidebar and is wondering what those weird little dots mean - you're reading too much into everything.
