Miss Orh Lulu

On the first day of the new lunar year, I woke early to see Lulu still asleep. Roused from her sleep, she leaped up onto a chair and wanted to continue her sleep.

Decided to snap a few test shots because I was going to take an extended family portrait later that day.

Her she is, distracted by my dad, hence looking away from the camera. The focus is soft because I was in such an awkward angle and totally unprepared for the shot. Moreover, the shutter was opened for a while because I wanted to use the natural rays from the kitchen windows.

This shot is much better composed and I took about 5 of these and 1 came out just right. A little forlorn but still very adorable. She's completely docile in the morning.

PMS !!!

Lulu seems to be getter livelier. Mum's gonna send her for spaying real soon. Of course, Lulu will not have a choice. Which is a real sad thing. But, inevitable? I dunno. I've been teasing mum if she did ask Lulu if she wanted any "little lulus". I'm not sure if it is cruel or anything. For all I know, there may be girls out there (humans) who don't mind stopping their menses permanently just cause they don't wanna get PMS.

Hmmmm.........???(says Lulu)

The trio of pics above shows a Lulu that is coping better with her hormonal mix-up. Please ignore my mum's legs.

I hope Lulu really don't mind getting spayed. Not that she gets a choice or can voice her opinion. It's tough isn't it? What if I wake up in the middle of the night wondering if she wants to have babies?

PMS !!

By observing Lulu, I made a few conclusions about females and PMS...

a) they still get hungry. in fact, they get hungrier, faster.

b) they still enjoy getting their daily dosage of outdoor walks.

c) i bet if dogs enjoy window shopping, they will window shop and buy when they PMS.

d) dogs can't eat chocolate. even when they PMS.

e) cuddles are still a very much needed. even more so now perhaps.

f) they tend to be more lethargic.

g) they appear a little bloated. maybe she is just looking more "zoftig humidity".

h) the family still loves her very much.

PMS

Just back from Cameron Highlands....more on the trip later.

Found a hormonally imbalanced lulu in the kitchen....poor girl. She's having her first "heat"....leaving little dabs of blood all over the kitchen floor.

She looks confused and a little sad. =(

Random Phases

I was in a Death Cab phase in December.

But January was a weird month. I was trying to listen to Broken Social Scene, The Bird & The Bee and Sondre Lerche because I bought tickets for their performances at the upcoming Mosaic.

Those quickly bore me.

Then I started listening to Muse and Smashing Pumpkins. Mellon Collie still sounds fantastic.

And now it's Editors, Grand Avenue, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, Athlete, Interpol, Bravery, Killers ....

I will put a picture of Lulu here.

Random. But it livens up things doesn't it?

Let's try another....

Wow~! We're ready for champagne all of a sudden.

Walk in the park

Xiaomeinu and I went for a stroll with lulu in tow. Ended up at grandma's.

2 observations.

1) Lulu is the sort of person who does not like to pee or poop in public toilets. That is if lulu isn't a dog but a person instead. I'm sure you have friends like that. Lulu didn't need to visit the toilet all the while when we were out. She peed once we got home. She's totally zonked out by the little outing.

2) Grandma is the lulu's favouritest person in the world. Ok, maybe within the Jln Besar GRC. She's constantly trying to get into grandma's good books. Amazing instinct tells her who's the matron in the household.

No pics. Sorry to lulu fans out there.

Unladylike

Got people complain that I have not been posting pics of Lulu. So today I got a video of her playing with socks as well as a few recent pics.

Here's her looking like a monkey - some dark version of Sun Wukong.

Obviously dogs don't really care about posture....I bet a lot of ladies out there have very unglam sleeping postures as well.....

Enough or not?

Fun Uncle

I am becoming the "fun uncle" to Lulu.

Yes, I do wipe her pee and poop when I'm home and nobody's about. Otherwise, it's usually mum who does that. Lulu's beginning to perfect the "puppy dog" eyes. She'll soon add the piteous whine. It happens twice a day at least. When she's about to be fed. She'd go into a tizzy and start jumping around. She'd be told to "SIT!" and is beginning to understand what is expected of her when she hears the "SIT" word said sternly. But only for about 8 seconds.

Anyway, ya. I'm the "fun" uncle. I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about. The "fun" uncle is the particular uncle who will indulge you. You probably first tasted beer (or stout) from his mug. He's the uncle who will ask you to keep the change after tasking you to buy his cigarettes.

That "fun" uncle.

It's great to have labels. Sometimes. It adds a certain amount of credibility. Stereotype is good because you can then go ahead and indulge in that role with a clear list of "stereotypical" behaviour. Your actions are explained.

Lulu's reactions gave me my label as a "fun" uncle. Sweet. I feel so needed suddenly. I can provide fun!

Lulu's sister....

I might not have mentioned this but it should be common sense that Miss Orh Lulu has sisters and brothers.

Her younger sister paid her a visit this evening. Will show pics soon.

Lessson learnt here is that you cannot have two bitches in a kitchen.

They will just go at each other.

**************************************************

As promised, pics of Lulu and her younger sister Xiao Bu Dian - 小不点:

Once left alone, xbd starts looking for her Jiayi jie jie who is the daughter of my dad's friend. Lulu won't even let her near the make-shift fence my mum created at the entrance to the kitchen.

When xbd finally gets to mount the fence, lulu tries to drag her down. Not very successful as you can see.

Mumsy tried to hold them together for a sisterly portrait but as you can see, Lulu is still trying to paw xbd. Wah lau eh.....

A close-up shot of xbd....kawaii too!

Hope the pics can chase everybody's Monday Blues away! Holler to those in and out country.

Lulu Attack!

She's really smart! She knows where she is allowed to poop and pee at the grand old age of 5 weeks! Well, almost. Half the time, we have to clean up after her....

She sleeps half the time I am at home. She's finally settled in on the make-shift basket we have made for her. Comfy enough for now.....till she gets bigger.

She's super sly too! Watch below as she lies low ready to pounce on me......

At the opportune moment, she runs forward......but because her legs aren't exactly developed fully yet, isn't fast at all, and grabs my hand!

She's just teething and like a baby, needs to chew on stuff. It's no painful.

It's a great feeling! Having this little baby to look forward to at the end of the day of working with people.

People can be a real bitch sometimes.....

*lousy pictures! I gotta learn how to quickly focus and shoot*
