Some of the patterns looks strangely familiar.

There can't be a similar collection here in Singapore though.

Airport carpet is always the most hideous. I suspect it's mainly designed in a way that disguises the great lengths you have to walk in the terminal... so being pretty wasn't so much of a concern. Have you noticed that airport carpet is almost never a plain solid colour?

I think ugly pattens can do two things effectively.

1) They hide stains better compared to stains on a plain, solid coloured carpet.

2) Because they are ugly, people won't want to take a second look hence may not even notice the stains!

almost all the patterns in the flickr set belongs to seat covers of trains or buses.

So that means that airport carpet gets stained a lot. You're probably right!
