Soundtrack of your life

Although V doesn't know and I haven't told her yet, but the recent interest in Chinese pop songs, it's mainly because of that fateful day when I went into K-Box with her.

Lady-Miss-Mong has been trying to get us into a karaoke session with her. I promised to applause after they sing and watch the many nice music videos that come with it but I don't think I want to subject them to my croaking.

I think what Nick Hornby did with 31 Songs was fantastic. But he couldn't have done it without first writing his other novels. I am wondering if there was actually a soundtrack for the book. I thought the idea of a book with an accompanying soundtrack would be interesting. I once wanted to set Ethan Hawke's The Hottest State to the songs of Jeff Buckley but that has been put on the back burner. Life, you know, or more precisely, living, can't do without it but it saps you of the energy to do things like that.

I have seen Chinese movies with mixed language soundtrack. It may be Chinese with Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Indian, English, Spainish, French....but there are such. And there are English movies with mixed language soundtrack, French, Spainish, Italian, but seldom with an Asian language. Or Far Eastern language. But I don't know if anybody noticed, the token foreign language track in a Chinese movie is usually some oldie with sentimental value and seldom or never a contemporary song.

Maybe I should re-think about setting the soundtrack for The Hottest State. Maybe I should think of some story where I can have mix language soundtrack. it'll be a love story but that the couple don't end up together.

Maybe I should just stop dreaming.

I'll start the story with this song:

and end it with this:

Let It Die

Let it die and get out of my mind
We don't see eye to eye
Or hear ear to ear

Don't you wish that we could forget that kiss
And see this for what it is
That we're not in love

The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn't the ending so much as the start

It was hard to tell just how I felt
To not recognize myself
I started to fade away

And after all it won't take long to fall in love
Now I know what I don't want
I learned that with you

The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn't the ending so much as the start
The tragedy starts from the very first spark
Losing your mind for the sake of your heart
The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn't the ending so much as the start

Feist

Lurrve-ly...
