The Christmas Song (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire)

Christmas carols are, once again, wafting through the soundwaves.

V's favourite was First Noel. Not sure if this year it'll be the same cause she was mentioning a new carol she heard.

But last year, because we hear a The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole quite a bit, it was my favourite. Catch Me If You Can featured the song in the movie's soundtrack and yes, it was the Nat King Cole's version.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.....

In Singapore, the spirit of Christmas is in the air on a year-round basis. We roast chestnuts everyday. But we call it khao lak. It's not the name of some obscure Thai village. It's the variety of chestnuts roasted with coffee beans that are sold by hawkers for $2.00 a pack. Even Hong Kong Disneyland is getting some roasted chestnuts.

Saw the waitresses at Marina Mandarin Atrium Lounge. They have on them this super foxy santarina costume. And white knee-high shiny boots. Why is it that a silly red outfit with white fur trimmings can make a woman look so va-va-voom? What's the physics in that? No guy I know thinks that Santa, with however sultry come-hiter looks he may pull, is considered sexy.
