Invisible Target

Watched Invisible Target just now. Had Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue and Jaycee Chan in it. A so-so movie by Benny Chan. The same guy who did the Jackie Chan New Police Story....with Daniel Wu as the bad guy...

All in all, it's always nice to see Shawn Yue and Nicholas Tse on the big screen. Edison Chen would be a great alternate choice for Jaycee Chan. My god, does he look like his dad....

Anyway, noted some stuff......

The Mental Institution that was shown in the movie, I think I was there before. It was the church where Tommy and May wed.

Bayview Church of Seventh-day Adventist, Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung New Territories.

The scenery behind the church....

The stunts were quite good. Nicholas did most of his own stunts. But there was a scene towards the end when he was seen tumbling backwards down a flight of steps....the slo-mo clearly revealed the trick....the "steps" were actually drawn on, complete with shadows. So he just kinda fell backwards down a slope. Difficult as it is but much easier and safer compared to a flight of steps.

And also Shawn Yue's treatment of the intel officer. Got treat girlfriend like that one meh? I mean, seriously, do girls really dig bad guys who treat them rough.....and in the end, give them a hug and say sorry as if nothing happened??? Win liaos....

I love the way Benny Chan did not restrict himself and make everything look P.C. If the "heroes" look like they should be smoking cigarettes, damn hell they should be smoking then. Who cares about "oh, won't they be bad role-models?" If you bring your child to watch a movie that is about police and thief, don't expect them to play with My Little Pony and screaming "Stop, Please stop! I really don't want to hurt you! Please relinquish your weapons!". It should be more like "Drop your gun you muthafucking assholes!". No "please."

ya was there last x'mas day.

it's actually a seventh-day adventist church compound. it was portrayed as a institution in the movie.

i wonder if the church can sue the film company or something like that.

1. I'm not 100% sure if the church was actually used. Didn't stay for the credits.

2. I'm sure they sought permission. The church ground is fenced.

3. Your wondering will cease if no news of the film company being sued happens over the next year or so.

You reckon?

i reckon that the producer or the director of the film had some vendetta against the church IF indeed it was used to portray a mental institution.
