Initial thoughts on Transformers

AWESOME.

It's really an "All-American" movie. Well, kinda.

I can just imagine Americans gathering in the cinemas and cheering Optimus Prime and gang on.

The movie starts with a troop of soldiers talking. This guy starts yakking in Spanish but at the end of it they all can relate to an American way of life; watching sports (baseball) on a weekend, family and friends.

But really, I think when a group of guys get together, that's what they really talk about...sports.

There's this showcase of Third Generation SAF type of technology as well. Having troops with lasing devices providing targetting for the airboys to drop the package. Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to provide RSTA (recon, surveillance and target acquisition) and collectively managing the battlefield. But of course, the US have been using this since....

And yes, Barricade, Scorponok and Starscream's not dead. In fact, stay for another 2 minutes when the credits starts rolling, you get to see Starscream flying up into space. F22 Raptor. Not a F15 Eagle. Yeah...so Megatron is not a P38 but a...just what the hell is he? Bumblebee is just wrong though. Not a VW but a Chevy? But I'd pay to get a car that can play the right song at the right time though.

Oh oh, not only is there Linkin' Park at the end, more importantly, there is Smashing Pumpkins in the end with a new song. Doomsday Clock from their coming album Zeitgeist.

I'll be back....

malay-ish or not, it defnly is Scorponok. Please please please believe me.

And the real Scorponok is like super huge size and part of the Headmasters series. His nemesis - Fortress Maximus!

NO NO NO!!!! wait.. maybe you're right..

ok..

lets see.. there's always a counter part for every transformer..

Optimus Prime had Megatron.
Rodimus Prime had Galvatron.

you claim...
ScorpONOK had Fortress Maximus..

There was this godzilla like transformer.. personally i think that his nemesis was fortress maximus.. cos that godzilla like thing, (we're not talking about Grimlock), could also transform into a City..

other than that, my personal fave is the Predacons!!!!! they really look super fab! and they didn't have a counterpart for the Autobots.

they just pwned everyone!

ok.. i know the dinosaur thing guy already..

Trypticon is the Decepticons' principal command base. He has three modes: a city, a mobile battle station, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex. In each mode, he has a variety of weapons. As an added gimmick, the Tyrannosaurus Rex mode can actually walk, operated with a battery-powered motor.

Although Trypticon appeared to be a ruthless killer, delighting in his battles, Trypticon was in fact insecure wondering if the Decepticon cause was in fact the right one for him.Trypticon is aided with two remote-controlled drones, called Full-Tilt and Brunt. Trypticon’s Autobot counterpart is Metroplex.

and there you have it.. his nemesis is Metroplex..

now, u tell me.. which is bigger? i puny scorpion, or a huge @ss T-Rex!

I was trying to say that Scorponok was not part of another Decepticon (as portrayed in the movie) but rather, it was a very significant Decepticon Headmaster whose Autobot opposite is Fortress Maximus.

Thanks for sharing about Trypticon and Metroplex.
