After Spiderman 3

Christopher Nolan (of Memento and Batman Begins fame) has started filming his sequel to Batman. His last movie was The Prestige which I thought was a good film but nothing worth shouting about except for minor details in the script that made it interesting for me. Tentatively called Batman The Dark Knight.

What's not very exciting is that the villian in this new installation is going to be The Joker. Brokeback fans will be happy to know that Heath Ledger is The Joker.

I thought what Christopher did for the Batman francise was exactly what it needed. I might say that his version beats Tim Burton's version way back in 1989. His Batman Begins beats the hell out of every other Batman movie after the original by Tim Burton. I think by making a new Batman movie using an old foe first used by Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan is challenging Tim Burton for the throne of "best batman director". Obliterating all talks about who's the better director for Gotham City.

Due out in 2008. Maggie Gyllenhaal will take over the role of Rachael Hawes from Katie Holmes. It's Gyllenhaal and Ledger again! The heterosexual version.
