Smoking Korners

Smoking is a great socialiser. Poofie thinks that the Zouk smoking area is the current top place to pick people up. Well, so far, the only thing I managed to pick up is a bad habit and plenty of bad smells.

I was at the squadron's smoking corner about 2 weeks back when one of the flot's branch head joined me. His first question when he saw me was "You still blogging?".

I posted an entry in March on some things about sense-making and it came to his knowledge.

Anyway we started talking about our interests and readings. We are alike in at least one aspects. Both of us don't read Janes.

Philosophy, religion, frontiers of science, geo-politics, pure mathematics, economics and miscellanea.

We agreed that since total omniscience is impossible, ignorance is bliss and a little knowledge is dangerous, we are all better off being ignoramus.

Or should it be ignoramuses? Ignorami? Sounds Japanese.

He also introduced to me the Omega Point Theory which is totally foreign to me and that would be my next topic of interest.....after I am done with Noam Chomsky and Kazuo Ishiguro.

That took up 2 cigarettes. But it was worth the X minutes of life that was taken away from me. (where X could be 3, 5, 7, 11 and depends on who you ask)

Since 1 July. Clubs here now smell different. Instead of cigarette smoke, the smelly people who don't shower or change their clothes reek!
