Decided to do a post on school motto:

On ACS: The Best Is Yet To Be - like a teacher's euphemism for "this boy play too much. Should concentrate in class more. Or a silly excuse of a reason for telling people it'll always have potential. meaning underperforming? But really it is a line from a robert browning poem.

On Raffles: Auspicium Melioris Aevi, shares the same motto as the Order of St Michael and St George. Meaning "Token Of A Better Age". RGS is slightly different: Filiae Melioris Aev - Daughters Of A Better Age

On Victoria: Nil Sine Labore - Nothing Without Labour. Shares the same motto as Gilgandra High School. Was looking through the alumnus. Besides current CDF, the current Chief of Air Force is also a former Victorian. And not forgetting President Nathan, Yusof Ishak and Nair.

Funny thing is this. According to wikipedia entries, ACS claims President Nathan as an alumni as well. Raffles claims President Yusof Ishak. President Nair, no doubt, is a Victorian.
